In the beginning of our spiritual journey, we were saved from the Effect of sin by a Gift of Blood, Fire, and Water, which were received by faith when we called on the Name of Jesus. Then, we worked in the Holy Place of Jesus Christ’s Spiritual Stature to possess greater portions of our old heart. Our theme verse for 1998 is Matthew 1:21: “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” In the beginning of our spiritual journey, after we had repented, Jesus saved us from the Effect of Sin, which is Hell and Death. The fight from the beginning always has been over the LORD’s Name. Since the beginning and the end are the same, this is the fight today, also. To find out Who the Son is, we must have the Father reveal Him. Then, the Son reveals the Father. We overcome through dependence upon the LORD’s Name. When we got saved, we were in darkness. In comparison to the Stature of Light in our New Heart, we had a big stature of darkness. But, Jesus came to make up the difference between our small Light and the great darkness we fight. The beginning of this message mentions the twenty-cubit wide Gate in the Mosaic Tabernacle and gives a review of the four colours in the hangings of this Gate and how they relate to the four letters of the LORD’s Name that represent the LORD’s Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, and Prudence of Choice. The colours in the Gate — blue, purple, scarlet, and white — also represent the four classes of reverential fear we are to have for the Father’s Name, Nature, Power, and Prudence. There is a difference between crucifixion and mortification. But if we do not understand the difference, then we cannot obey God’s Word that tells us that our old man is to be crucified (Romans 6:6) and that we are to mortify the deeds of the body (Romans 8:13). The Cross represents crucifixion. And when Jesus Christ died on Calvary’s Cross, two thieves and two malefactors were being crucified on four crosses surrounding His Cross. So there is one kind of crucifixion for the LORD, and there is another kind for us.

The seven rungs on Jacob’s Ladder are represented by the seven pieces of furniture in the Mosaic Tabernacle. Therefore, the fourth rung is pictured by the Golden Candlestick. (New Year’s Eve Service) The LORD has said that 1998 is to be a year of growth and preparation for His Coming. Reverend Hicks saw a vision in which she saw us putting on our Shepherdess Robe which we must wear as we go out to help others get ready for the LORD’s Coming. Reverend Hicks also spoke about listening to a tape which told about someone who is said to have supernatural powers. (Employee Christmas Luncheon) Isaiah 9:6 says,“… and the government [empire] shall be upon his shoulder…” Christ is the Head over all the Empire (mis-raw). Mis-raw also means to have prevailing power with God; therefore, Christ is the Ruler over all because He has prevailed over Death, Hell, and the Grave. As the Head over ALL, He is the Head over us and all others and all situations. When Jacob (referred to in Hosea 12:1-4) wrestled with the Angel of the LORD he prevailed; thus he demonstrated the prevailing power he had over the Heavenly Angel and the earthly Esau or the Heavenly realm and the Earthly realm. If we keep choosing God’s Will, we will prevail, as Jacob did.

Mention is made of the four places of abode in Eternity in relation to thirty, sixty, and hundredfold fruitfulness.The main part of the message deals with the Hebrew word for Gate, Shaw-ar, in the Book of Proverbs. Proverbs 1:21 speaks of Wisdom crying at the openings of the Gates. Proverbs 8:3 says that Wisdom crieth at the Gates. Proverbs 14:19 speaks of the Gates of the righteous. And, Proverbs 31:23 says that the Husband of the Virtuous Woman, who is a picture the Bride, is known in the Gates.
