Quick Overview

Maw-shee-akh is the Hebrew word for Christ. It is the Name of God’s Only Begotten Wisdom-Word Who was brought to birth and clothed with Glory before God created anything. All things were made by Christ, the Wisdom-Word. Isaiah 53:5 says: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

WHY JESUS RECEIVED STRIPES ON HIS BACK.....(SUN AM 9/27/2009)
Maw-shee-akh is the Hebrew word for Christ. It is the Name of God’s Only Begotten Wisdom-Word Who was brought to birth and clothed with Glory before God created anything. All things were made by Christ, the Wisdom-Word. Isaiah 53:5 says: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

This message shows how this verse fits around the Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, and Prudence of the LORD’s tetragrammaton, His Holy foursquare Name—yod, hay, vaw, hay. He was bruised for our iniquities in the yod or Wisdom Corner. He was wounded for our transgressions in the first hay or Understanding Corner. The chastisement of our peace from sin was in the vaw or Knowledge Corner. Then, by His stripes we are healed of our trespasses in the second hay or Prudence Corner.

The Prudence of the LORD’s Name is connected to the Wisdom Corner. So, actually, we get stripes on both sides of His Name. The Hebrew word for stripes, khab-boo-raw, means to be bound with stripes; i.e. a weal, or the black-and-blue mark itself. The word khab-boo-raw comes from the Hebrew root word khaw-bar, which is the word for fellowship (Philippians 3:10; I John 1:7).
