Quick Overview

(Independence Day, International Convention) The Philadelphia Church, mentioned in the third chapter of Revelation, is the Spouse Church. This is the Church that kept His Word, did not deny His Name, and kept the Word of His  patience. To the overcomers in this Church, Jesus said, “[I] will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name” (Revelation 3:12). So if we are overcomers, our new Name in Glory will be the New Name of Jesus.

THE YELLOW GLORY — 6TH MESSAGE - HOW NOT TO DENY HIS NAME.....(FRI AM 7/4/2008)
(Independence Day, International Convention) The Philadelphia Church, mentioned in the third chapter of Revelation, is the Spouse Church. This is the Church that kept His Word, did not deny His Name, and kept the Word of His  patience. To the overcomers in this Church, Jesus said, “[I] will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name” (Revelation 3:12). So if we are overcomers, our new Name in Glory will be the New Name of Jesus.

This message explains the principle of not denying the LORD’s Name and being little in one’s own eyes. King Saul is a classic example of one who did deny the LORD’s Name. When King Saul started out, he was little in his own eyes—the very thing that signifies humility. But Saul did not have true humility, because humility does not disobey God’s Word. He felt little in his own eyes because he had an inferiority complex, which we all have inherited. The following Scriptures were used in connection with this example: First Samuel 15:8-23; Psalm 133:1-3.

Another example of this little principle is seen in Zerubbabel, a Jewish man in captivity in Babylon. He was sent to Israel to build a Temple, a seemingly impossible task, for he was going back to a land that has been deserted for seventy years. The city was in ruins; the wall was in ruin. There was no Temple. It had been stripped and burned. What could Zerubbabel do? He was anointed in his little condition. When he went to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple, he met so much opposition from all the famous enemies that he felt too little to finish the job. In Zechariah 4:2,3, the LORD showed the Prophet Zechariah what He had shown to Zerubbabel—the Anointing and the Source of the Anointing that was on him over there in Babylon. That was the Source that was still on him in Jerusalem because he was still little in his own eyes! And God was going to give him a new Anointing so that he could finish building the Temple!

In the New Testament, we have this Promise: “[H]e which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). This message also discusses how the Name of Jesus moves in Time, and it shows how the New Name of Jesus will move in Eternity.
