Sermon 2841 - The Spirit of Truth - 1st Message.....(Sun am 10/25/2009)

THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH — 1ST MESSAGE.....(SUN AM 10/25/2009)
Romans 5:20,21 tells us that where sin abounds, Grace much more abounds. The Hebrew word for Grace in this Scripture is kheh-sed, which pertains to God’s Love. We know that God’s Word says this: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son.” God’s Word talks about the Christ, the Wisdom-Word, being the Beginning of God’s Way. The Hebrew word for Wayi s deh-rek, which means a well-trodden high-way.

The Wisdom-Word of God, after it was begotten, said, “The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old” (Proverbs 8:22). When the LORD, the Unbegotten Father, began to beget the Master Plan, He begot His Only Begotten Son and brought Him forth and set Him at His Right Hand and “Truthed” Him up in the Master Plan. This is why Jesus Christ, later, said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” The word for Truth in Hebrew is eh-meth, and eh-meth comes from theHebrew root word aw-man, which means faithfulness. The Bride is called and chosen and faithful.

In John 14:16,17, Jesus said, “[I] will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”  The Spirit of Truth is for comforting us by letting us know where we are wrong. We do not need to know what is wrong with our brother or sister. We need to know what is wrong with ourself. Then, we will be overflowing with comfort to share with someone else. The important thing is to see where sin is abounding in ourselves.
