RULING AND REIGNING — 1ST MESSAGE.....(TUE PM 7/12/66)

God’s Word differentiates between ruling and reigning. Ruling, very basically, has to do with maturity in the Word of God whereas reigning has to do with maturity in the Spirit. This message deals with one aspect of natural rule. The Hebrew word for rule means to have dominion, to govern, and to bear. It also means to tend as a shepherd, to feed, and to supervise. This lets us know that ruling refers to God’s Word, which is like a pasture and like a shepherd. With His Word, God feeds us and supervises us.

In English, we have an expression “from A to Z,” meaning all the letters of the alphabet. In Hebrew, we have the word eth that takes in all the words of the alphabet. There is no English equivalent for the word eth . In Genesis, chapter one, when God created the Heavens, He created them out of eth or out of all His Word. This is clear in the Hebrew text. In verse sixteen, when God made two great lights, He made them out of eth or out of His Word. He made the sun to rule in the day and the moon and stars to rule in the night. The sun, moon, and stars rule by staying in the orbit of God’s Will and by feeding the Earth with light according to God’s Will. Those who desire to be successful rulers in the natural realm must also stay in the orbit of God’s Will, and they must feed, first, upon the Truth of God’s Word and let it become Light in their own hearts. Then, they will be able to rule others, according to God’s Will, by feeding them with the Light of Truth.
