THE IMPORTANCE OF HAIR.....(WED DAY 6/17/98)
(Employee Seminar) First Corinthians 11:1-16 speaks of the importance of short and long hair as it relates to the headship of both men and women. The shadow and type of the significance of hair is found in the four coverings of the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies in the Mosaic Tabernacle. These coverings, from the inside to the outside, were as follows: (1) linen curtain embroidered with Cherubims; (2) goats’ hair; (3) rams’ skin dyed red; and (4) badgers’ skin.
The masculine and feminine aspects of the Headship of Christ are pictured in the Cloud and Fire that led Israel in the wilderness and also in the Kabode Glory and the Shekinah Glory in the Tabernacle. The Cloud and Fire was both masculine and feminine. The Kabode Glory of the Father was masculine. The Shaft of the Humility Glory of the Son, the Torah, was feminine.
When the Tabernacle was built, a part of the Cloud and Fire entered into the Holy of Holies. The Father’s Exalted Masculine Glory — His Kabode Glory — rested upon the Mercy Seat, from which the Father spoke the Oral Law. The Shaft of the Son’s Humility Glory — His Shekinah Glory — extended down into the Ark and rested upon the Written Law.
