THE RICH MAN - 1ST MESSAGE.....(SUN PM 5/17/98)

Luke 16:19-31 records a true story of the rich man and Lazarus. Usually, we concentrate on Lazarus, but this message deals with the many things that the rich man had in his favour. He was a Jew by birth. He wore purple and fine linen, and he fared sumptuously every day; yet, he died and went to Hell. Lazarus was a beggar. He was full of sores. He lived in a state of hunger, and the dogs were his ministers. When he died, he was carried to Abraham’s Bosom.
