SIXTEEN DESIRES - 10TH MESSAGE......(FRI PM 4/17/98)

(Tampico, Mexico Convention) Our final lesson of the convention showed us what kind of feelings, dispositions, and attitudes we have when our backs are toward our own names.

First John shows us one thing our corrupted desire does (I John 2:15-17). It causes us to have great enmity against the LORD’s Desire for His Holy Name.

The world that we love if our backs are toward the LORD’s Name shuts out all Light, Life, and Love from God. People who love the world, love to lift up their own names, their own natures, and fulfill their own lusts. This kind of person revolves around himself. Our love for Christ’s Name will bring us Light, which we avoid when our faces are turned away from the LORD. We hate the Light until we turn our faces toward the Name.
