SIXTEEN DESIRES - 8TH MESSAGE......(WED PM 4/15/98)

(Tampico, Mexico Convention) In Deuteronomy 12:5, 11,12, God prophesied about where His Name was going to abide. The people had no choice in this matter. God would choose where His Name would dwell, but He began to prepare them for that time when He would choose. So, He instructed them in what sacrifices and offerings they would bring (Deuteronomy 14:23-26).

The LORD wanted them to learn fear and reverence for His Name before He placed it among them. Respect is not a gift but is learned from God’s Word. God teaches us Reverence for His Name. God’s Instruction included how they were to observe the Passover once He had placed His Name among them because the Passover Blood and the Name go together (Deuteronomy 16:1-6). Israel was also to bring their firstfruits to the place where He chose to place His Name (Deuteronomy 26:1,2).
