BEAUTIFUL GOING......(SUN PM 3/29/98)

This message is in answer to the following comment: “I see only one dog mentioned in the Bible, and that is a greyhound in Proverbs 30:29-31.

These verses in Proverbs give the four examples of beautiful going. The creatures mentioned here fit with the four letters of the Tetragrammaton Name of the LORD.

First is the lion that signifies the Yod or Wisdom of the LORD’s Name. He overcomes in places of unrestrained growth and is an example of how to walk through the wilderness. The Horse of Faith fits with the first Hay or Understanding of the LORD’s Name. The Hebrew word for what has been translated as greyhound really refers to a horse or an animal that is slender of loins. A race horse runs in open country. It conquers the nature in us that does not like to be fenced in. The he-goat is a picture of the Vaw or Knowledge of the LORD’s great Power of Humility. It refers to surefootedness and determination and being solitary.
