Quick Overview

This message focuses upon Jesus Christ as the Gate or the Door. The Hebrew word for Gate (shaw-ar) is the same word for hundredfold. In John, chapter ten, verse one, Jesus said, “ I am the Door.” In this verse, He used the word shaw-ar, meaning gate or hundredfold. In verse nine, He again said, “I am the Door.” However, in this case, He used the Hebrew word deh-leth,meaning double door.

EPHESIANS 4:11-13 - 7TH MESSAGE......(WED PM 11/12/97)

THE GATE OR THE DOOR

This message focuses upon Jesus Christ as the Gate or the Door. The Hebrew word for Gate (shaw-ar) is the same word for hundredfold. In John, chapter ten, verse one, Jesus said, “ I am the Door.” In this verse, He used the word shaw-ar, meaning gate or hundredfold. In verse nine, He again said, “I am the Door.” However, in this case, He used the Hebrew word deh-leth,meaning double door. The Hebrew word deh-leth also is used in Song of Solomon 7:1-5 to refer to the Spouse-Bride’s long ringlets of surrender. These double ringlets are a picture of the Bride’s double portion of surrender to the Father, inside and outside. We surrender our heart to Jesus, theoretically, when we receive Salvation; then, we must surrender empirically to stay joined in a relationship with Him as we walk in the Crucified Way.
