DESCENDING AND ASCENDING.....(FRI PM 8/8/97)

(California Convention) Ephesians 4:8-10 reveals the Principle of Humility before Exaltation. Jesus Christ demonstrated this Principle when He descended from Heaven to take on a Body of Flesh. Then, He descended to take on a crown of thorns and go to Calvary’s Cross where He was crucified. Finally, He descended into Death and Hell before He was resurrected and given a place of exaltation at the Right Hand of the Father. Jesus Christ always was grateful for His Father’s Master Plan and Purposive Will, even if it meant sufferings and death. Before we can know the Resurrected Christ in His Glory, we have to descend and take on Christ’s Humility at the Cross of Calvary by faith so that our fleshly attitudes and dispositions can be crucified with Christ. When we find the Door of Humility, or in other words, when Christ appears in the midst of our thorny situations, then, we can bring pleasure to Him as we are going up by giving Him all the Glory and all the Honour and all the Praise.
