EIGHT THINGS ABOUT THE BER-EETH BLOOD COVENANT — 5TH MESSAGE.....(SAT PM 8/2/97)

(Youth Convention) This message shows the Principle of having to go down before we can come up. The downward stairway began with Noah and continued with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses (Exodus 2:24,25) and the Nation of Israel (Exodus 6:1-8). At the bottom of the stairway was where the LORD appeared to Moses in the midst of the thorn bush.

The message focuses on the Principle of God having to let us get down to the bottom, to the place of helplessness and hopelessness, in our flesh, before He brings us up and leads us into Canaan’s Land. Moses started out by trying to deliver his people through his own fleshly efforts. But, when he killed an Egyptian who was fighting with a Hebrew man, he had to flee for his life. He had fouled up God’s Plan for him, seemingly. One could not get much lower than Moses was at this point in his life. Yet, the LORD appeared to him in the midst of his thorny situation and called him to lead His people out of Egypt. The LORD took Moses and the Nation of Israel into Canaan’s Land because it was in His Ber-eeth Covenant. And, He will do the same thing for us, spiritually, because we, too, are in the same Covenant.
