Sermon 1510 - The Four Positions in Which Israel Stood When Receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai…..(Sun am 2/9/97)

THE FOUR POSITIONS IN WHICH ISRAEL STOOD WHEN RECEIVING THE TORAH AT MOUNT SINAI (THE MOUNTAIN OF TRUTH VERSUS LUCIFER’S MOUNTAIN OF FALSEHOOD).....(SUN AM 2/9/97)

This lesson deals with the age-old question: Whom will we serve— the Creator, with His Torah-Truth of Life and Death, or the creature, Lucifer, with his false torah that is surrounded by clouds of darkness? When the LORD gave His Torah to Israel, they stood in four different positions. The first three positions pertain to the Stature of the Son; the fourth position relates to the Stature of the Father. (1) Israel stood at the nether part, meaning the womb, of Mount Sinai, to indicate their dependence upon the LORD God, the Creator (Exodus 19:16,17). (2) Israel stood afar off in humility and reverential fear (Exodus20:1,8,21). (3) Israel came near to stand and bless the LORD’s Holy Name (Deuteronomy 4:9,10). (4) Israel came near and stood under the Mountain of the Father (Deuteronomy 4:11).
