WINNING INNER BATTLES WITH SPIRITUAL WRESTLING, SUPPLICATION, AND TEARS…..(SUN AM 6/23/96)

In Luke 8:43-48, the woman with the issue of blood pressed her way through the multitude, touched the Hem of Jesus’ Garment and was made whole. In this Scripture, the Hebrew word for touch (nawgah) is the same word that is used in the Book of Genesis when the Angel of the LORD touched the hollow of Jacob’s thigh as they were wrestling. Jacob wrestled with the Angel through the night season and refused to let Him go until He blessed him and gave him a new Name, Israel.

Hosea 12:3,4 says that Jacob had power over the Angel and prevailed because he wept and made supplication. Jacob went forth weeping (bawkaw) for “Seed.” The Hebrew word for supplication comes from the word khawnan, which means to be gracious, pitiful, and merciful.
