  2. The Water And Fire Of The LORD's Name

The Water And Fire Of The LORD's Name

The LORD God always uses the names of many things in order to make His Holy Name known. For example, the LORD made His foursquare Holy Name, His Tetragrammaton, known through the River that the LORD God fastened in the Garden of Eden; then, He separated this River into four heads outside the Garden. These Rivers were the Pison, the Gihon, the Hiddekel, and the Euphrates Rivers. These four Rivers picture the LORD God’s Headship and Authority that governed, guarded, and kept Adam-male and Adam-female within His confines of the Garden. Later, after they had disobeyed the LORD’s command and had sinned by eating from the Tree of Knowledge, God’s Headship cast them out of the Garden and kept them without or outside the Garden. They could not reenter the Garden once they had sinned and been cast out. The Unbegotten LORD’s Infinite, Divine Nature not only consists of Water but also of Fire. The Hebrew word for fire is aysh, which means burning, fiery, fire, flaming, hot, heat, brilliance; the active principle of burning, which is characterized by the heat and light of combustion that makes a brilliant display. God revealed His Fire from Heaven when He sent it down on Abel’s acceptable sacrifice. Learn More
