The first lesson in this booklet tells how God prepared Jacob to be the father of the nation of Israel, who was God’s natural bridal nation. In Jacob’s attitudes, we see the attitudes we must develop as believers if we desire to have a Bridal Relationship with the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ. The second lesson tells us that we all can be spiritual parents. Hannah is the example used for a mother who travails in prayer to bring a child to birth and who, then, gives that child to the LORD.We can see spiritual children born into God’s Kingdom if we follow Hannah’s examples of being loving, concerned, and faithful to pray. The third lesson concerns the Virgin Mary as a Mother who made the supreme surrender of standing by as her Son was hung on a cross. The fourth lesson establishes that obedient children are rewarded while disobedient children are punished. King David’s sons are used as examples of both kinds of children.
